CoderDojo is a global volunteer-led community of free programming clubs for young people 7-17. CoderDojo Carlton only started in September 2016 but we have continued to grow not only as a club but a community of coding enthusiasts. Our sessions are an exciting mixture of learning and play as our ‘ninjas’ (participants) are aided by mentors to explore the amazing world of coding and robotics.
Our mentors come from many different walks of life and backgrounds but are passionate to both teach and learn with our ninjas. Founding CoderDojo Carlton Champion Alicja Cwierz is a front-end developer at Australia Post. Tamara Jones recently joined CoderDojo Carlton as Co-Champion and works within the heritage sector. Carole Pillette and Jay Alexander are both students at Coder Academy and David Rodriguez worked with GIS technologies and holds a master in ICT from Latrobe University.
